July 9, 2024 Staff and Community Update: Focus Registration for Student Athletes
Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) has transitioned to a paperless registration process for interscholastic athletic programs. This FOCUS registration system will make the registration process more convenient and efficient.
To register your child for participation in any BCPS interscholastic athletic program, please follow these steps:
- Access the registration portal:
- Create a Focus account. You must have an account to register.
- Log in using your parent or guardian credentials.
- Complete the registration forms:
- Once logged in, navigate to the interscholastic athletic programs section.
- Complete all required forms, including the student-athlete information, emergency contacts, and health history. Ensure that all information entered is accurate and up-to-date.
- Upload required documents:
- Upload necessary documents such as the insurance information and physical examination form, which must be completed by a licensed physician. This form can be downloaded from the registration portal if you do not already have it. Forms are not complete until all information is uploaded into the system.
- Ensure that the physical examination form is signed and dated within the past 14 months.
- Review and submit:
- Carefully review all entered information and uploaded documents.
- Submit the registration. You will receive a confirmation email once the registration is successfully completed.
- If the information is incomplete or incorrect, the school’s athletic director will deny the application and send it back to you to update to complete the registration.
Attached are specific directions for parents/guardians to assist you in registering your child into FOCUS. If you encounter any issues during the registration process or have any questions, please contact your school athletic director or the Office of Athletics at 443-809-2328. Staff members are available to support you and to ensure that your child is ready to participate in our athletic programs.
