Each school in BCPS supports safety for students with diabetes by:

Staffing each school with a full time RN who is prepared to implement diabetes orders, respond to diabetic emergencies, create individualized plans for students with diabetes to ensure their safety throughout the school day and develop plans to ensure appropriate school staff are trained to recognize and respond to hypoglycemic and hyperglycemic events.Parents are requested to submit medical orders to the school nurse prior to the first day or each school year.Links to state and ADA order forms are below:
