Students with Disabilities

August 28, 2023

Dear Parents:

As you make decisions regarding your child’s education for the 2024-2025 school year, Baltimore County Public Schools wanted to remind you that students with disabilities, including those on Section 504 plans and with Individualized Education Programs, are entitled to accommodations, supports, and services at the school of enrollment.  If you anticipate your child attending a magnet school, please know that special education and general education supports are available to address your child’s needs.

In the event that your child requires special education and related services, you are encouraged to discuss those services with staff at the school of anticipated enrollment.  Special education and related services are available at all public schools, including magnet schools and programs, within Baltimore County Public Schools.  Students who are entitled to transportation as a necessary and current related service under an IEP or Section 504 Plan are eligible for transportation to a magnet school and program.  Parents with questions regarding the availability of special education support services at a particular school should contact that school’s special education department chair or contact the Office of Special Education at (443) 809-3660.

Sincerely,

Bryan G. Stoll
