The FY 2027 operating budget process is underway. We want to ensure that Team BCPS stakeholders understand the operating budget process and remain engaged throughout this budget cycle, know how our funding is spent and accounted for, and understand how different roles across the school system directly impact the experiences of our students. Dr. Rogers will submit a proposed budget to the Board of Education in January.

A new Fast Forward profile explores the many strategies that contribute to Stoneleigh Elementary School's enduring success. Recently recognized as the newest Maryland Blue Ribbon School in BCPS, the Stoneleigh school community is committed to ensuring that every student achieves academic gains.

BCPS Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB) applications are open from December 4, 2025 – January 23, 2026. Interested students can learn more by visiting the SMOB Selection website. Applicants must be current sophomores or juniors and will need to have a recommendation from their high school principal, in addition to other requirements. High school principals can nominate up to two students.

As we move into the winter months, please take a moment to review the inclement weather plan for 25-26 and the system’s process for emergency notifications, school closings, and delays.

The BCPS Online Learning Program is accepting applications from families interested in enrolling for the 2026-2027 school year. The program is only open to students who will be entering Grades 5-12 next school year. The application deadline is Friday, December 12.
