Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Hotline Process
In
order to process your report, a minimum amount of information is
needed. Please consider the following questions before making a report:
1. Are
you reporting fraud, waste, or abuse that involves a BCPS employee, or a vendor doing business with BCPS?
2. Do you know the names and/or job titles of the people involved?
3. Do you know how and where the alleged incident was committed, and the approximate timeframe?
4. Do you have documents, images, or direct observation of the alleged incident?
Fraud, waste, and abuse hotline reports are reviewed by the Investigative Unit Audit Manager and a Senior Auditor to determine whether investigation is
necessary by Internal Audit staff, by management or if the report is not fraud, waste, or abuse. When reports are referred to management Internal Audit will review the results of management's investigation for reasonableness.
